We have been so busy here at Fell Legend farm. Last week, June 10, 2009, my first day of my 6 day Holiday, I was suprised with Maurthwaite Yelena presenting me with our first Fell Legend Farm filly, Felllegend Etta Rose. She wasn't due until the week of 4th of July, but came early that morning down in the field with Braeberry Bonny Lass ( also due that same week), Braeberry Magna Carta (yearling filly we call Whisper, owned by Braeberry Farm) and our own little Jillian, ( Half Arabian/American Shetland 2 year old filly). I brought mom and the foal up to the baby pens, but had to bring up her nanny's too as that had witnessed this birth and was not happy I took their small charge away. Three days later, Bonny Lass foaled a beautiful solid black filly at 4:30 am and I saw the whole delivery by flashlight. She was so strong and healthy and was up on her feet, running circles around her mom (Bonny Lass is a maiden mare and not sure what was happening) in her first 10 minutes of life. Remindes me of another filly, Braeberry Liberty, who I also was blessed with witnessing her birth too. Both foals and moms did great and both foals are imprinted and learning many new things. See our sale list page and the photo gallery for more pictures of these lovely fillies.
Our daughter Laura, got married in between these 2 births, so my holiday was filled up needless to say, with many joys and blessings.
Etta Rose will remain as part of our mare herd and should produce our third color Fell foals for the future.
